I'm Back and I'm Still Griping

Well I'm back from a much needed vacation, only to be greeted by bitter cold and a whole lot of snow. Funny how things change, yet remain the same.

First, I'll gripe. lol. I see the lindens have stopped sl banking. Funny how they claim to have no authority to solve problems within sl, like fraudulent land sellers and griefers and other rip offs, but when it comes to something that might hit them in the pocketbook or threaten legal action, they jump to the rescue. hah. Gambling and banking are toast and i wonder what's next. Could the escorts, strip clubs and nightclubs be far behind. I've ranted about this before so that's all i'll say on it.

Last night, i wanted to see a musician in sl and found the location via search and tp'd there. To my surprise (?), I landed in a greeting area and spent the next ten minutes wandering around trying to find the stage. Why do club owners do this. I won't mention the name of the place, but when they make it difficult for people to find them, they risk losing potential and existing customers. BTW, I never did find the stage and left. I won't go back either.

Okay, enough griping, after all it's a new year. Here's an update on what's been happening and about to happen within the Lavender Group of Companies.

A Fashion Statement is getting busier since the Christmas slowdown. Lots of new and exciting outfits with a little help from ideas curtosy of Trella and Tracy. Katime is planning to do an Easter Treasure Hunt in the store and plans are under way for a summer fashion show sometime this spring. I plan to go wild with the show and do it like a dance revue, so stay tuned.

We are looking for sale associates for A Fashion Statement. Hours are flexible and the job entails, being present at the store to assist customers by offering advice on how to find things, how to edit etc. If you're looking for that type of position, drop me a note.

Gia's Fashion Cabaret has been hitting stride and hosting some of the best live acts in second life. Trella and I have booked some great entertainment. We've been hitting about 50 people on Wednesday nights and the performances have been awesome. Noma Falta drew a big crowd this past week and really rocked the house. Next week we have Scarlett La Roux and you don't want to miss her. Mardi Gras Night is set for Feb 6, 2008 from 6-9 PM with Kelvinblue Oh, Zed Essex and BubbaC John performing. The staff will be giving away masks, beads and dolls to all who attend. Don't miss it and no, you don't have to lift your shirt to get the beads. lol.

Trella is also working on an Elvis tribute night with BubbaC John. more details as she plans them. As well, a Sweetheart Ball is in the works for Valentines Day. Trella and Kyla will do their best to host the sweetest ball second life has seen. You go girls.

With the success of Gia's, I'm planning on opening the club another two nights per week. I'm looking for staff now, in particular people to manage those nights, so if you are interested or know of someone, drop me a line.

Finally, the girls and I (seven of us) are planning to release a calendar with photos of all of us. We need more women to fill up the calendar so plans are to have a contest at Gia's for a number of weeks with weekly winners getting their photo in the calendar. We are still setting it up, so stay tuned to my blog or join A Fashion Statement or Gia's Fashion Cabaret groups.

Welcome back to my best friend Jeb who was absent from sl for awhile. She's back in top form and as much fun as she always is. Look for Jeb to be around Gia's and the stores helping out, having fun, or making sure you have fun.

Well that's it for this week, i have to study, pay my bills and oh do so many other things. First I'll try to get warm. It is cold.

Take care everyone, stay kewl.

Ciao
Jenny
