Lindens Sure Like To Party

Well we all know about the increasing problems within second life. I won't go on about lag, crashes, missing inventory and host of other problems we've experienced with each new viewer upgrade. And have the Lindens really done anything to improve it here since last year's open letter? Well they haven't really improved things, but they do like a party.
.
Most recently, the Lindens staged a 24 hour live event party. Now, I'm certainly not against having a party, and you know I support live music in second life (oops forgot the tm thingy), but the Lindens throwing them? I thought this world was created by it's inhabitants, but here we have the lindens hosting live events. And a short while ago, they hosted a huge concierge party for all those who pay over 125 in tier. I guess there's not much doing on the fixing sl front, so time to organize a party.
.
Second life is full of entrepreneurs, some who have built clubs and host live events. Are the Lindens competing with them now? Are they showcasing talent to potential buyers? Just what are they doing?
.
My thoughts haven't changed over the past year. I really think that Linden Labs is more concerned with increasing the value of second life so that potential buyers will be more impressed with what is available and thus upping the price. I believe the folks at Linden Labs want more features, windlight for example to attract buyers.
.
The Lindens through their lack of effort in fixing what ales second life have proven time and again to the residents that second life inhabitants don't' count for anything except numbers. They tend to promote the population statistics and the wonderful features available here without any real concern for the problems we face. The experience keeps getting worse and what can we expect from Linden Labs? A Party? Probably. In fact, lets do away with all the clubs and venues in second life and let the good folks at Linden Labs run the venues. Hell, they can even make money at it, cause you surely know it they are the only stop in town, it'll cost us to visit. And what's next on the Lab's front? Maybe they'll start designing clothes and opening up stores and malls. Oh wait, that would interfere with their corporate friends.
.
With Philip standing aside (not completely, he's still the CEO) it's time for Linden Labs to step to the plate and do the right thing. FIX SECOND LIFEtm.
